[Required] Terms and Conditions

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of the Terms and Conditions is to prescribe all matters concerning the rights, obligations, and use between the Society and its members in using Internet-related services (“hereafter referred to as “services”) provided to users by the SOS Sharing Society (hereafter referred to as the "Foundation").

Article 2 (Definitions)

The terms included in this Agreement are defined as follows:

1. The term "user" refers to members and non-members who access the Foundation services and use the contents provided by the Foundation in accordance with these terms and conditions.

2. The term "member" refers to a person who has agreed to the user agreement of the Foundation to receive services provided by the Foundation and has been assigned a user ID.

3. The term "non-member" refers to a person who uses the service without joining a member.

4. "ID" means a combination of letters or numbers determined by "members" and approved by the "Foundation" for the identification of "members" and the use of "services".

5. The term "password" means a combination of letters or numbers determined by the "member" to confirm that the "member" is the "member" that matches the ID given and to protect his or her personal information.

6. The term "post" refers to writings, photos, videos, various files and links in the form of information, such as symbols, text, voice, sounds, images, videos, etc. posted by "users" using the "service."

7. The term "membership termination" refers to the termination of the User Agreement by the Foundation or member.

Article 3 (Posting and revising the Terms and Conditions)

1. The Foundation will post the contents of these terms and conditions on the initial screen of the service so that members can easily understand them.

2. The Foundation may amend these terms and conditions to the extent that it does not violate any relevant laws or regulations.

3. If the Foundation revises the terms and conditions, it shall notify the date the changes will be applied and the reason for the revision 7 days prior to the initialization of the service along with the revised terms and conditions.

4. If a member uses the service after the effective date of a revision according to the previous paragraph, he or she is considered to have agreed to the revised terms and conditions. If a member does not agree to the revised terms and conditions, he/she may terminate his/her user agreement and membership. The Foundation is not responsible for any damages caused by ignorance of the revised terms and conditions.

Article 4 (Interpretation of the Terms and Conditions)

1. Matters not prescribed in these terms and conditions or any interpretations shall be subject to relevant laws or commercial regulations.

Article 5 (Conclusion of the User Agreement)

1. The user agreement is concluded when a person who intends to become a member (hereby referred to as the "Applicant") agrees to the terms and conditions, applies for membership, and the Foundation approves the applicant’s application.

2. Users who wish to use this service as a member must provide the information (name, resident registration number, contact number, etc.) requested by the Foundation. Any information provided by the members is managed in accordance with the privacy policies of the Foundation.

3.The Foundation may make changes to the use of service menus depending on the users who use the service.

4. In principle, the Foundation agrees to use of the service for applicants who have submitted an application. However, the Foundation may not approve applications falling under any of the following subparagraphs or may terminate the user agreement afterwards.

4-1. In the case an applicant not using his/her real name or using another person's name 4-2. If the applicant provides false information or if the contents requested by the Foundation are not provided by the applicant. 4-3.If the applicant intends to use the service for the purpose of criminal acts as prescribed in the Criminal Act; 4-4.If a child under the age of 14 does not first obtain the consent of a legal guardian. (parent, etc.) 4-5. If the applicant intends to use the service for the purpose of pursuing profit 4-6.If the applicant intends to use the service for purposes that violate any current laws or regulations;

5.The Foundation may request name and/or identity verification through a specialized institution depending on the type of membership for which the applicant is applying.

6. If the Foundation chooses to withhold or deny an applicant’s application, the Foundation shall notify the applicant.

7.The Foundation may withhold its consent if there is no space in service-related facilities or in the case of technical problems or problems with the business.

8.The establishment of a user agreement is the time when the Foundation marks the completion of the application process.

Article 6 (Change of Member Information)

1. Members can view and modify their personal information at any time through My Page. However, the name and ID required for service management cannot be modified.

2. If there is a change to the information stated when applying for membership, the member shall notify the Foundation of the change by modifying it directly on the website or by calling or sending an email to customer service.

3. The Foundation is not responsible for any damages or loss caused by not informing the Foundation of the changes in the preceding paragraph.

Article 7 (Obligation to Protect Personal Information)

The Foundation shall endeavor to protect members' personal information as prescribed by relevant laws and regulations such as the Information and Communication Network Act. Regarding the protection and use of personal information, the relevant laws and the Foundation's Personal Information Protection Policy apply. However, the Foundation's privacy policy does not apply to linked sites other than the Foundation's official site.

Article 8 (Obligation to Manage Members' IDs and Passwords)

1.The member is responsible for managing the his/her ID and password, and it should not be used by a third party.

2.The Foundation may deny a member's ID that may leak personal information, or if the ID violates social or ethical customs. If there is a risk of misunderstanding by the operator of the Foundation, use of the ID may be restricted or the member may be forced to change the ID. In addition, if the member is aware that his/her ID and password have been stolen or used by a third party, he/she shall notify the Foundation immediately and follow the Foundation's instructions to rectify the situation.

Article 9 (Notice to Members)

1. If the Foundation must notify the member, it shall notify him/her by e-mail, using the e-mail address designated by the member, unless otherwise stated in these terms and conditions.

2. In cases where the Foundation must notify all members, the Foundation may substitute the terms of notification stated in Article 9 (1) for posting the notification on the bulletin board on the Foundation's website for more than 5 days.

Article 10 (Obligation of the Foundation)

1. The Foundation shall not engage in acts prohibited by the relevant laws or these terms and conditions, and shall do its best to provide continuous and stable services.

2. In order to provide continuous and stable services, the Foundation shall repair or restore facilities without delay.

3. The Foundation shall deal with the opinions or complaints raised by the members in relation to the use of the service if they are deemed justifiable. For opinions or complaints raised by members, the process of resolution and results are communicated to members through the bulletin board or by e-mail.

Article 11 (Obligation of Members)

1.Members must comply with relevant laws and regulations such as the Child Protection Act.

2.Members must modify the user agreement online if his/her address, contact number, or e-mail are changed. The member is responsible for any issues caused by failure to correct the issue or delays in correction.

3.Members must directly manage their ID and password. The member is responsible for any issues that arise due to his/her negligence.

4-2.Provide the information of other people 4-3.Modify any information posted by the Foundation 4-4.Transmit or post any information other than information determined by the Foundation (computer programs, etc.) 4-5.Infringe on intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, by the Foundation or other third parties 4-6.Perform any acts that damage the reputation or interfere with the work of the Foundation or other third parties 4-7.Disclose or post obscene or violent messages, images, sounds, or other information in violation of public or private ethics on the service 4-8.Use Foundation services for profit without the consent of the Foundation 4-9.Collect or store the personal information of other users without obtaining approval from the Foundation 4-10.Perform any other illegal or unjust acts

5. Members shall comply with the relevant laws, the provisions of these terms and conditions, any rules or regulations announced in relation to usage instructions and services, and any notifications made by the Foundation. Members shall not engage in any other acts that interfere with the work of the Foundation.

6. Members’ passwords must be changed at least once every 6 months in accordance with the expiration set upon creation.

Article 12 (Provision of Services, etc.)

1. In principle, services shall be operated 24 hours a day, unless there are any special circumstances that interfere with the Foundation's business or technology. The service may be temporarily suspended on the day or time set by the foundation for regular inspection, expansion, or replacement of the system. Temporary suspension of services due to scheduled maintenance shall be notified in advance through the service page.

2. The Foundation may temporarily suspend the service without notice or notify members afterwards due to unavoidable reasons such as urgent system inspections or emergencies.

3. The Foundation may divide the service into parts and designate a separate available time for each part. In such a case, details shall be announced in advance.

Article 13 (Change of Service)

1. The Foundation may change all or part of the services it provides according to operational and technical needs, given sufficient reason to do so.

2. The Foundation may modify, suspend, change, or delete some or all of its services in order to comply with policy changes or in order to institute higher-quality services.

3. The Foundation will notify members in advance of matters that may cause serious damages or loss due to changes such as modification or deletion of services.

Article 14 (Provisions for information and publication of advertisements)

1. The Foundation may provide members with information that is deemed necessary for use of the service through announcements or e-mails.

2. The Foundation may post advertisements in relation to the operation of the service on the service page or send them by e-mail. Members who receive e-mails with advertisements or other promotional materials can request the Foundation to cease sending such emails.

3. The Foundation shall not be responsible for any loss or damage that occurs as a result of communication, transactions, or participation of members in advertisers' promotional activities.

4. The Foundation may request additional personal information with the consent of the member for the purpose of improving the service and introducing targeted services to members.

Article 15 (Copyright of Posts)

1. The copyright of a post posted by a member within the service belongs to the publisher of the post.

2. Posts posted by members within the service may appear in search results or service promotions, and may be partially modified, edited, or reposted to the extent necessary to appear. In such cases, the member can take measures such as deleting the post at any time through the in-service post management function.

3. If the Foundation intends to use a member's post in way other than those stated in the preceding paragraph, it must obtain the member's consent in advance through phone call, e-mail, etc.

Article 16 (Management of Posts)

1.If a member's post contains content that violates related laws, such as the Information and Communication Network Act or the Copyright Act, the copyright holder may request the suspension or deletion of the post in accordance with the policies set by relevant laws, and the Foundation must take action in accordance with relevant laws.

2.Even if there is no request from the copyright holder under the preceding paragraph, the Foundation may take temporary measures such as deletion of the post in accordance with relevant laws if the post infringes on a copyright or other foundation policies or related laws.

3.The Foundation may delete, move, or refuse to approve posts or items that fall under the following without prior notice.

3-1.Content that severely insults other members or third parties or damages the reputation of others 3-2.In the case of posting or linking information, sentences, figures, etc. that violate the Child Protection Act; 3-3.Content that encourages piracy or hacking 3-4.Commercial advertising 3-5.Contents that are objectively recognized as being associated with a crime 3-6.Contents that infringe on copyrights or other rights of other members or third parties 3-7.Content in violation of any rules or regulates set forth by the Foundation regarding posting on the bulletin board 3-8.Content deemed to be in violation of other relevant laws and regulations;

Article 17 (Attribution of Rights)

1.Copyright and intellectual property rights for services belong to the Foundation. However, members' posts and works provided under the partnership contract are excluded.

2.Regarding the service, the Foundation grants members the right to use accounts, IDs, contents, activity indices, etc. according to the terms of use set by the Foundation. Members are not allowed to transfer, sell, or dispose of these items.

Article 18 (Termination of Contract)

1.Members may apply for termination of the contract through the My Page menu at any time, and the Foundation must immediately process the termination as prescribed by the relevant laws.

2.If a regular donor wants to stop their regular donations, unless terminating his/her membership, he/she must express his/her intention through 1:1 inquiry on the site or by phone. In the event of suspension of regular donations, the Foundation holds the members' personal information for a set period of time for the issuance of certificates or for member management in the future.

3.If a member terminates his/her contract, all posts registered to his or her account shall be deleted. However, "posts" registered on the public bulletin board will not be deleted automatically and must be deleted by the member in advance of the termination of his/her contract.

Article 19 (Restriction on Use, etc.)

1.The Foundation may restrict the use of the service without prior notice if a member violates the obligations of the terms and conditions or falls under any of the following paragraphs.

1-1.Interference with the normal operations of the service 1-2.Violation of related laws, such as identity theft or payment theft in violation of the Resident Registration Act, operation of illegal programs in violation of the Copyright Act or Computer Program Protection Act, illegal communication and/or hacking in violation of the Information and Communication Network Act, distribution of malicious programs, or exceeding his or her access rights of the service 1-3.If a member has not logged in for more than one year 1-4.In cases where a request for correction by related public institutions such as the Information and Communication Ethics Committee is filed 1-5.Transmitting or posting information prohibited by relevant laws, such as the Child Protection Act 1-6.Intentionally damaging or obstructing a service of the Foundation. 1-7.Violation of any other regulations or conditions of use set by the Foundation, including these terms and conditions

2. Period of Validity of Personal Information 2-1. Personal information of users who have not used the service for one year is stored and managed separately for personal information protection.

2-2. Users shall be notified by e-mail, SMS, or push notification one month before the time of storage/retention of their personal information. If the information necessary for notification is absent or incorrect, the information will be stored or retained according to the rules set forth in the personal information processing policy. The user will then be notified of the storage/ retention upon logging into the site. 2-3. Separate and stored personal information shall be destroyed without delay after 4 years of storage. 2-4. In order to use a suspended account, members may log in to the service before switching to a suspended account. In addition, members may restore a suspended account and use the service normally by logging in and agreeing to conditions for use.

Article 20 (Disclaimers and Compensation for Damages

1.If the Foundation is unable to provide services due to a natural disaster or equivalent force of nature, it shall not be responsible for providing services during that time.

2.The Foundation is not responsible for any obstacles or damages to the use of services due to reasons attributable to members.

3.The Foundation is not responsible for any information, data, the reliability or accuracy of facts, etc. in the content posted by members in relation to the service.

4.The Foundation is not responsible for transactions between members or between members and third parties through the service.

5.The Foundation is not responsible for any obstacles to the use of services due to reasons attributable to members.

6.The Foundation is not responsible for the use of free services unless there are special provisions related to such use in the relevant laws. In addition, the Foundation is not responsible for any damage or loss to our members in connection with the use of free services.

7.In providing individual services to members in a partnership agreement with an individual service provider, the individual service provider is responsible for damages caused by the individual service provider after the member agrees to the terms and conditions of the individual service provider.

8.The Foundation is exempted from liability if any damage occurs due to the suspension or failure of the telecommunication service by a telecommunication service provider.

9.The Foundation is exempted from liability in case of damage due to unavoidable reasons such as repair, replacement, regular inspection, or construction of service facilities

10. The Foundation is not responsible for the content posted on the service by members.

Article 21 (Arrangement of Disputes)

1.If matters not specified in these terms and conditions are stipulated in the relevant laws and regulations, the Foundation shall act in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

2.If a lawsuit is filed for a dispute arising from the use of the service, the court assigned to such procedures by law shall be the competent court.

Article 22 (Use of Contributions)

1.Donations are provided to those in need in Korea, North Korea, and the rest of the world through the Foundation.

Supplementary Provisions

1. These terms and conditions will apply from July 1, 2021.

2. The previous terms and conditions that took effect on August 7, 2014 have been replaced by these terms and conditions.

3. If you choose not to agree to the terms and conditions, use of the services on the website may be restricted.
